About us

Mayfield Sports have been importing and supplying tennis equipment to the local market since 1995. Owner and operator Kevin Burgess has had 30 years of experience in the tennis industry, as both an Auckland Regional Coach and New Zealand Junior Tennis Coach. Kevin has travelled extensively to international competitions as coach and manager of New Zealand Junior tennis players.

We are the exclusive supplier of tennis nets to the ASB Tennis Centre, home of New Zealand’s premier international tournaments, the Heineken Open and ASB Classic. We also supply tennis court equipment to leading tennis centres and clubs around the country, including Scarbro Tennis Centre in Auckland, Manukau Tennis Centre, More FM Tennis Park in Albany, North Shore Tennis Centre, Waikato Tennis Centre, and leading court installers Tiger Turf (formerly Astrograss NZ Ltd) and Action Sports.

Kevin has had 10 years experience in sporting retail, as Managing Director of Pro Tennis NZ Ltd, operating retail outlets at Auckland’s two major international venues. During this time Kevin gained a great deal of expertise and knowledge of the sporting equipment industry.

As an official ATP Tour and WTA Tour stringer Kevin has strung rackets for many of the world’s leading players, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Tommy Haas, Jim Courier, John McEnroe, Steffi Graf and Michael Chang.
