First Set Balls

First Set Balls

GAMMA First Set Balls are extra soft training tennis balls designed for beginners. The slower ball speed provides more time to react and set up each shot for more consistency and control when learning. The softer feel makes learning more fun for children who may fear harder regulation balls.

Here are some questions that have been asked about Prince Tennis Balls that you may find helpful:

Q. What is the difference in performance for the two top balls?
A. The difference between the two balls is the felt & the core compound. The felt of the NX Tour ball has more wool, which provides a softer, thicker feel. The core of this ball is to provide a more consistent bounce as it does not loose air pressure as fast as the standard core.
The Futures ball uses a needle punch felt, which is processed differently as it has less wool & more nylon. The durability of this felt is good but does not feel as soft or as thick as the felt used on the Tour ball.

Q. What is the difference in durability for the two top balls?
A. Both balls are durable but for two different reasons. As stated above, the core of the future ball will last longer as it does not lose its pressure as fast. The felt of the balls are different but they both last for different reasons - tour ball has more & thicker wool & the futures ball has more nylon which does not wear down as fast as wool.

Q. Is the Tour ball a heavy ball to hit?
A. The Tour ball & the futures ball weight is the same, the tour ball may seem heavier as the strings can penetrate deeper into the wool felt of the tour ball.

Q. Which would be better for general use?
A. The Tour ball is for more serious players because of its playability & performance. The Futures ball is more for recreational use.
